Upgrade oil pump
The biggest weakness of this engine is its oil pump, which does not provide sufficient oil pressure from the factory and repeatedly leads to failures. Without adequate oil pressure, error messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always result in engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that provides the oil pressure in every speed range increased and protects the engine from wear.

Timing chain instead of timing belt
In addition to the oil pump being undersized, the factory drive by a toothed belt is responsible for most engine damage. The rubber belt runs in the oil and tends not only to break but also contaminates the engine oil with harmful rubber abrasion from the very first rotation. Therefore, we replace the oil pump’s toothed belt with the proven timing chain, ensuring a wear-free drive and clean engine oil in the future.
Reinforced pistons
When driven with increased performance or in a sporty manner, this engine tends to suffer from piston damage in the ring zone area. It is not uncommon for oil consumption to reach 0.5L/1000km or more, and compression as well as power decrease significantly. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber then mainly stresses the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.

High-quality bearing shells
As part of the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and processed. The bearing clearance between the individual components is adjusted to lifetime and performance set and thus ensures an especially smooth engine operation.
